State and local governments rely on EagleView’s high-resolution aerial imagery for project planning, reducing field world, improving efficiency and keeping people safe. However, governments often need imagery for more than visualization, especially if the imagery needs to be produced to a certain standard or meet accuracy requirements.

With EagleView’s Certified Orthomosaic with TrueTouch correction, GIS and planning professionals can extract high accuracy measurements from an orthomosaic produced using a full photogrammetric methodology backed by authoritative statements from licensed professionals.

Our Process

Ultra high-resolution imagery is produced using an 8-stage workflow:

1.  Flight planning and capture:

EagleView plans to capture imagery from a designated area and identifies any potential complexities. We then mount high-resolution cameras on aircraft to capture detailed images of the ground.

We apply color balancing to reduce color contrast and limit areas of high exposure.

2.  Color balancing:

This automated process locates like pixels in overlapping images to “tie” together images and eliminate misalignment.

3.  Automatic tie point generation:

The surveyor collects highly-accurate GPS coordinates of each ground location which serve as references during aerial imagery processing.

4.  Measuring ground control points:

The imagery data set is run under a series of standardized settings to confirm and improve relative and absolute accuracy.

5.  Post-processing:

This step introduces a Digital Elevation Model to the process to remove the effects of image tilt and terrain to create distortion-free images.

6.  Orthorectification:

EagleView stitches together many images into a composite tile using overlapping areas of the images as reference points.

7.  Orthomosaic creation:

Our TrueTouch Team enhances imagery by removing evidence of seams and distortions—improving image-viewing quality and enabling accurate representation across all features such as roads, bridges, landmarks and more.
